Residency:
I lived in Dronfield sporadically since
1984, my current stay started in 2002. My family and I have made our home
here as it is a nice place to live and because it is so easy to get out in
to the Peak District.
Job/Pre-retirement job:
I have been very lucky to have a lot of
very varied jobs, I am currently the Green Roof Centre Manager for the
University of Sheffield. In the past I have worked in the community and
private sectors, both in the UK and abroad.
Family:
My wife and I were married in the year
2000, so that it would be easy for me to work out which anniversary we were
up to! We have 2 children.
Interests and hobbies:
Mountain biking in the Peak District and
further afield and playing hockey are my main hobbies.
Why I’m a councillor:
After going to school in Dronfield in
the late 80’s I moved away to work. When I returned to live here nearly 20
years later, there were no new youth provisions of any kind. If anything,
there were less. Yong people still had no space or facility to call their
own. I continue to try to bring accessible amenities to Dronfield’s 9 to 15
year olds.
