Residency:
I have
been resident in Dronfield since 1978 and have lived in the Gosforth
Valley since December 1979.
Job/Pre-retirement job:
I have
worked in the science industry for the since 1974 working with a variety of
companies in sales and technical positions. In conjunction with two
colleagues in 2003 we formed a company that is concerned with the service of
scientific instruments.
Family:
I am
married with two grown up sons – the younger one still lives at the family
home and the elder son lives and works in
Norwich.
Interests and hobbies:
I am
interested in a lot of different activities. After my wife and family I
would list people, the local community and the environment as being very
important in my life. I am a scout leader and youth leader at my church. I
am interested in most sports and follow football and rugby – as well as any
other sport that looks interesting. I am an avid reader.
Why
I’m a councillor:
My
parents always taught me not just to take but to give back. Dronfield has
been very good to me and my family with the environment that it provides and
the educational opportunities that it gave to my children. I would hope
that the effort and commitment I can bring to local politics will assist in
maintaining Dronfield as a good place to live and bring up the future
generations.
